Anonymous Insta-famous Chef Jacques la Merde will reveal his true identity on this week’s episode of “Top Chef” and at a ticketed Puritan & Co. dinner — but don’t worry, he’s far from being done. Chef will take over Coppersmith’s two indoor trucks in South Boston for dinner service on Saturday at 6 p.m. and says he’ll be “slinging Spam and Fernet floats” all night long.” (OK, until 11 p.m.)
We dropped him a line to ask about his decision to stick around town, and in classic Chef JLM fashion, he replied:
“IT WAS IMPORTANT TO ME TO DO A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT STYLED EVENTS. PURITAN IS GOIN 2 BE GREAT B/C ITS A LITTLE MORE FORMAL AND MORE LIKE A TRADITIONAL TASTIN MENU, BUT IM ALSO RLLY EXCITED TO WORK W/ THE TEAM AT COPPERSMITH AND CREATE AN EXPERIENCE THAT’S TOTES CASUAL AND INTERACTIVE AS WELL. PLUS SOME OF US PREFER TO EAT STANDIN UP!!! THIS WAY, THERE’S SOMETHIN FOR EVERYONE!!!”
A dessert created by Merde and Coppersmith Pastry Chef Craig Williams will also be on the menu through Friday, Jan. 29. Reservations are recommended.
