Last Updated on January 17, 2016 by Coppersmith

On Thursday, Dec. 3, throngs of people will descend upon the Moakley Courthouse to see who will take home top honors at this year’s 50 on Fire awards. Sectors like civic, education, technology and sports & fitness will all be on the podium, but no category quite ramps the night up like dining and retail. Boston is in a building boom, after all, with new spots to shop and eat being added to neighborhoods near daily.

The final tallies are far from over, but here’s who we’re keeping an eye on for this year’s 50 on Fire Dining and Retail category.

This new South Boston restaurant made major headlines¬†back in April when it debuted promising a titanic bar, espresso service, 350-seat capacity and a massive roof deck complete with food trucks and an air stream serving cocktails and raw-bar bites. Since then, it’s kept the hits coming, proving it’s a must-experience whether you live in the neighborhood or make a special trip.
